Asked and answered, straight.
If your question is not here, a person answers at contact, or with your booking reference at My Trip.
Booking & paying
+How does booking actually work?
Reserve on the site or message the concierge; no payment is taken. A person confirms every date and operator within hours and sends your exact all-in quote with a secure card link. A 30% deposit locks everything; the balance is due 7 days before arrival.
+Why don't you charge instantly like other sites?
Because our inventory is real people, not a database, and our prices are exact rather than padded. Confirmation by a human within hours is the honest version of instant.
+Which cards work?
Normal international Visa, Mastercard and Amex on secure hosted payment pages. This is precisely the problem we exist to solve; if your card works anywhere, it works here.
+Is my payment safe?
Card details go only to the payment processor on their hosted page; we never see or store numbers. Operators are paid after delivering your service, not before.
Changes & cancellation
+Can I change dates or party size?
Freely before the deposit. After it, we re-confirm operators and adjust the price transparently; inside 7 days it depends on availability but we always try. Ask via My Trip with your reference.
+What is the cancellation policy?
Free (minus card fees) to 14 days before your first booked day; 50% at 7 to 13 days; inside 7 days the deposit converts to a 12-month reschedule credit. If we or an operator fail you, that component is replaced or refunded in full. Full text at /cancellation.
+What about weather or site closures?
Rescheduled within your trip where possible, otherwise refunded. We never keep money for a service that did not happen.
On the ground
+How do I know my guide is legitimate?
Egypt licenses guides; we verify the licence in person and publish the record. Your confirmed guide is named on your voucher with their verification page, and carries a cartouche card you can scan when you meet.
+What if something goes wrong mid-trip?
The 24/7 WhatsApp line on your vouchers. First response in minutes, a human decision-maker inside 30, and a same-day fix or a written refund decision within 72 hours.
+Do I need cash in Egypt?
Some, for small purchases and optional tips. Everything EgyRoam books is prepaid; nobody we send will ask you for money for anything we arranged.
+Is tipping expected?
Appreciated, never required, never solicited by our people. If service delighted you, tip what feels right; there is no hidden quota.
Practical Egypt
+GEM tickets keep rejecting my card. Help?
Known problem with the official site's foreign-card processing. On any EgyRoam itinerary, timed slots and tickets are handled locally inside your single payment. There is a full explainer at /answers/gem-tickets-foreign-card.
+Is Cairo safe for tourists?
Cairo's tourist areas are heavily watched and genuinely welcoming; the real frictions are hustle and price games, not danger. Our whole model, verified people and fixed prices, removes most of what feels unsafe.
+When is the best time to visit?
October to April is the classic window: warm days, cool evenings. Summer works with early starts and a plan built around heat, which is exactly how we build them.
The longer reads live under straight answers: guide licences, felucca prices, airport arrivals, and what things should honestly cost.
